Artist's Comments

This is Leroux-based, depicting Erik as he was described in the book. I attempted to make him horrifyingly ugly while preserving some of the morbid seductiveness of the character. Christine looks on with ambiguous emotion.

I looked at Sarah's masquerade costume from Labyrinth as inspiration for Christine's costume, and some pic of Christian Bale as a loose reference for Erik's face.

The title refers to one of the lyrics in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical.

Christine sort of reminds me of Sarah in Labrynth during the Masquerade scene. Also, getting Kay! or Leroux!Erik is hard to do, because you don't want to make him look morbidly...corpse like! I mean, he has to be attractive on SOME level! Anyways, nice work, and thanks for stopping by. :D
